This is a quick introduction to the wipe-out method for doing an under painting, which could be used landscapes, or still life, not just for portraits. It is a different method than Bob's wet on wet technique. If you want to try a portrait, this will give a good idea for how to do either something in "sepia" or browns, or an under painting that you would let dry then add mass tone color later. For portraits, its a decent example of starting point.
