Golden Glow of Morning

flippergirlpaints 30 Dec 2022

This one has been on and off my list for a year or so. I think the concept of the painting is very cool, but Bob's version bothers me in that it looks like the aftermath of a forest fire to me. ?? I wanted my version warm and light. I did do some textured gesso (hard to see). I did the acrylic underpainting with yellow ochre, azo vermillion, burnt sienna and van dyke browns but all really thinned down. Oils were also very thinned down to achieve my desired look.

I looooove your version Pam! Great choices of colors. Beautiful outcome! And not looking like the forest is on fire. Lol!
