The Old Oak Tree

The Old Oak Tree

8th African based painting and this one really sets the sky on fire. This was a 100 minute pure wonderful sensation of joy, focus, inspiration and steadiness. The canvas used was a 16"x20" and prepared with liquid clear to keep the hard colouring. Only five colours were used: cad yellow, Indian yellow and cad red deep hue for the sky and VDB brown and ivory black for the tree, leaves, grass AND the elephant! The latter was SO MUCH FUN to do, it took me some ten minutes to paint it and was really considering giving it a friend! Soon, Felix will make a seperate section for individual paintings like this (meaning not Bob Ross copies) but for the time being, I placed it here. Hope you can all enjoy this one, please let me know what you think about it!

WAW, the highest rating I ever saw! Thank you so much my dear! Next African one will probably hold a rhino, so stay tuned!

Looking forward to continue this colorful travel to a continent I've never been yet.

Dear Romain, I'v been some 15 times or so to Africa, visted 8 (only!) countries in total. Never saw an elepant in the wild but did saw its immaculate and overwhelming nature. Please stay tuned, more African beauty is in progress!

Dear Madame, the red colour was intended to be far more outstanding at first but was afraid while painting it, that it would resemble a bloodbath instead, so I chose to be mild with it. Ah, the elephant, what can I say …. I simply FELT the need for it and it just magically came out of my brush. Concerning the tree … my new wave brushes really made me do a good job there, I can recommended 'Bob Ross wave brushes' to everyone!!!

I think your heart is there in Africa! So much passion about this painting.

Well Sunnylady ... in fact my heart is in South America (specially Peru), where I am totally in love with the Andes and the people, visited it some ten times already, only 5 countries. But since I travelled the whole world multiple times ... my passion is really about everywhere, specially where beauty and kindness have been my share.
