Golden Morning Mist

Tom0779 18 Jun 2020

This one is acrylics on 30 x 40 cm paper. I wanted to try this since some time. I think it would have been better to do it in oils. Personally it is not my favorite. I had a few troubles with the background and in separating the two big trees. This is really a challenge to make it look right, as Jin already mentioned in his version. Just for fun I left a big black area at the bottom of the big tree to give it a mystery effect. Not sure if it is a good idea.

I am sure someone lives there in that darkness. You need to put a couple of red or orange eyes there. :) just kidding.

😂. I think about it.

Well done!
I think the idea in the dark part is very good. And I can't tell you without actually looking at it, but as I did in my version, the contrast between the bright part in the back and the trees in front of it may be too strong. My picture is a little more yellowish when I actually see it.

Thanks Jin. Yes I agree with you, it is my old problem with acrylics. They darken when they dry and often I use too less light color to brighten them.
