Around the Bend

flippergirlpaints 14 Jul 2021

7/31 - I had to go back and fix this one. I just could not stand looking at it's weird first version. I attached a picture of the new version. It is not perfect, but much better, and it only took me about 30 minutes.

Added some Indian yellow to brighten it up (experimenting with color) and it turned out looking kind of eerie (The upper part of the water is more yellowish in person). First time trying the rocks with Bob's filbert brush trick and....not so easy! I ended up doing them in 2 swipes (dark then light) Wish I made the peninsula a little bigger.

I think the rocks are fantastic! And the shadows of trees in the background. Well done.

I have a feel those three rocks will be pulled into the water under that lands corner. Looks like it starts to sink and suck everything into that dark spot.
Love that misty background.

gunaM, you are right I see haha. My highlights made the other side a dark hole unintentionally.
