Windy Crashing Wave (Kevin Hill) - Fixed & Final version

Ninoum 05 Jun 2023

I didn't have time to paint a new composition, so I decided to fix this one from last week. Much more happy with this version. I have attached the previous version.

Beautiful Nancy!

Thank you B!!! 😊

Good morning Nancy, now it looks more like you wanted it. Good fix and great workπŸ‡©πŸ‡ͺπŸ‘πŸΌ

Holyshlamoly! That looks awesome! <3

Hallo mein Freund! πŸ‡©πŸ‡ͺβ˜€οΈ Yes it does. I can now sleep better! Lol!

Thank you Titia! Glad you like. I want to be better with seascapes. I thought starting with the wave itself. I have have a tutorial of a full view with the sky & beach I will do soon. The sky, specially the clouds are one of my weaknesses. I want to conquer that hurdle! ☁️

Oh Nancy! It's just gorgeous. What technique did you use to fix it?

Thank you very much Tomi! I used the clear gel as my base for blending and I also did what DaveJ shared with me in the previous version of this painting.

Here is what he shared: "1 is to redcoat the previously done area in that colour and then apply and blend in the next layer. 2ndly you can just apply the next layer and then put about 2mm width of dots of mixture of previous layer and new layer to blend the edges together. I run into that quite a bit with MJS technique and Michael also does on occasions especially when using his faster drying alkyd oil paints."

I did his first suggestion and with the clear gel, it worked perfectly. 😊

Thank you. I'll try that next time I get into a pickle. Probably sooner rather than later.

So realistic, beautiful

great action in the water here..love it!

Just gorgeous and I knew you could fix it!

Super wave.

Looks like a photo...nice!

Thank you Cold! That's what I like about Kevin, he has more of a realistic style.

Grazie my friend Pietro! πŸ˜€πŸŒŠ

Thank you for believing in me Sandy. It means a lot! While I was fixing it, I started having doubts I could do it. It didn't want to do what I wanted. Then, I figured it out by trying going back-and-forth between the previous step (dark spots in the foam) and the highlights. Eventually, it was blending perfectly. I also remembered you telling me I could fix it on my previous version. That's why I kept trying. Thank you for that Sandy!

Thank you Tom! β˜€οΈπŸŒŠ

Thanks abha! It really does have a "photo" like flavor.

Gorgeous wave Nancy! love the colors, lighting and details. You really have a gift :)

Big improvement Nancy. The lines look like they are 'in' the wave now instead of 'on top' of the wave. The original lines almost looked like tree roots on the ground.

love the reflections and the foam ... awesome

Thanks David! β˜€οΈ
