Original Creation

Colosseum in Rome

Tom0779 27 Sep 2020

I re-uploaded this one as I wasn’t happy with the photo. This is line and wash on A4 sized cold pressed paper. I followed (as I do in most of my paintings) a YouTube tutorial. Even with this tutorial it was very tough to get the perspective right. I think the drawing itself was something about two hours. The intention was to create the building with loose lines. I know this is different, I thought I share this one. Let's see...

Another wonder of the world Tom!

The loose lines create more open space for the viewer, a real bonus.
In all, Nero would've been jealous!

Also a great idea to use A4 for this once since the Colloseum demands a colossal stage.

Thanks Voy, it is not the lighthouse of Alexandria... But I think the Colosseum is also a nice object :) I do a few of the line and wash paintings in A4, not sure yet if they would also fit for A3. I think I would need a stronger fine liner then. Maybe I give it a try next week.

Please do keep the lighthouse in mind, it might be a masterpiece!
Till soon!

Thanks Sunnylady. One of the next steps will be some industry buildings, I found already some tutorials for the same. But before I plan something different.
