This one is the only desert scene I painted yet. It is a very simple one and it was done with watercolors. I basically like such scenes and I think Bob has also done a few of them. Maybe i paint them too some day.
Thanks Voy, I will definitely try one of them.... I have a long list :)
Is this real scenery? Very good atmospher. Well done as always.
Thanks Jin. It is not taken from a real photo. I followed this one by an instructional book for watercolor beginners.
I was looking at watercolor painting from 19th century and I think I had misconception about watercolors. I always have been thinking about super light and transparent paintings to be only possible way with water-colors. Today that myth was busted for me. Also the links you and Jin shared yesterday were helpful. Some of the paintings from 19th century look like very bold in color and darkness. I was amazed earlier today!
So Sunnylady, I guess this means we will see watercolor creations from you soon :) A simple scene like this, not sure if you like such easy ones, will last only around 30 minutes if you use a hairdryer and you have the proper brushes.
I regret that I create watercolors very rarely in recent time. But for me I guess acrylics/oils are the better medium. Meaning they fit my style of painting better.

Bob has three desert scenes of which one is for about 50% done with a palet knife. Less easy and thus challenging.
Go for it Tom, I have faith in you!
