This is one of some Christmas cards I painted recently. This year we decided to send our friends and relatives a card instead of visiting them due to the pandemic. Thus I bought some postcard-watercolor paper from Winsor and Newton (format is 10 x 15 cm).
This is one of my personal favorites, a lonely house with a lonely pine tree on the foot of a hill. Technique is line and wash, idea is from a YouTube video.
It is a lonely house with the appearance of warmth inside. Nice shadows.
Thanks for your attention Voy & ForestVueGallery. Shadows are one of the easiest things to do with watercolors. And they are very effective.
Love it as always Tom!
Thanks a lot doggymommee8301.
A wonderful idea Tom and Iām sure they will cherish the cards for years to come. When my husbands gran passed away we found cards from an artist friend who would send her ink drawings of wherever he and his family traveled that year. We found 15 years worth of his work. She saved every one - each was a beautiful piece of art.
Lilikins, thanks a lot. Maybe some days in the future someone finds my cards :)
