Lighthouse II

Tom0779 23 Sep 2020

My second lighthouse in line and wash technique. This time with a little additional house. I think I will let one more lighthouse follow. Not every lighthouse is round. I try to find one that is built on a square to make it a bit different. It is A5 sized watercolor paper, and personally I like this more than the other one I posted yesterday. Hope someone enjoys this.

Excellent painting Tom. So much attention to colouring, shading and specialy contouring without exhausting the viewer!!

For the square lighthouse idea, you could combine it with ancient history and have a go at the Alexandria lighthouse, one of the ancient seven wonders of the world

Tom, this is wonderful painting, I like this one more too. Here this painting is about lighthouse, it attracts attention due to high contrast compare to other things in the painting. I love the red door and red roof, nice color accents! Lighthouse group really stands out! Wonderful painting!

Thanks both for your feedback.
@Voy KAy: Thanks for the hint, a gorgeous painting object! Maybe I give it a try in winter when I got a bit more time. For today I planned a much simpler one, but I plan to paint a historic building (if it works I will also post it here) at weekend. This will be a huge challenge for me, but thats all I want to say yet :)
@Sunnylady: Thanks as always for your support!

Another nice painting! Your drawing skills are outstanding. Just curious, did you learn this yourself or did you follow painting courses?

Thanks Madame for your feedback:) I follow Youtube tutorials. I have done a few works from photos or "on location". I sketch a lot of things, for this I have a watercolor sketchbook. but thats just for me :) I never was at a painting or drawing course, if you mean that.

Ah! nice to hear you learn this from Youtube tutorials. That is also my way of learning.
