Original Creation

Trunk bridge

Tom0779 10 Nov 2020

This is my first painting without a building since some time. It is line and wash, A5 sized cold pressed watercolor paper from Winsor & Newton.
I wanted to give it a try to paint something without a building, but I think I wasn't really focused on this one. Of course it is tough to make perspective errors here. But I feel I wasn't loose enough for this kind of scene.

I specially love that horizontal trunk. Its shadows and the mossy details!

It is a wonderful nature scene Tom!

Really nice. I love all the little details. This also reminds me of the time I fell off one of these trunk bridges in the woods and busted my wrist as a kid.

So lovely! I can imagine myself hanging out in the woods as a kid here. Just enjoying nature and taking it all in.

Thank you all for your kind comments. Even this is not my personal favorite and I didn't concentrate at the end I am pleased that you like this one and I regret that I didn't put sufficient effort in the picture.

Would never know you didn't give it 100% Tom. Lovely as always.

Thank you doggymommee8301. Sometimes you as a paintner have the feeling that something doesn't go in the right direction. I had the feeling with this one. But I am happy you like it.

Tom, do you want to enter a painting to the 'water works' event? It wouldn't be the same without our local watercolor master 😊

I totally agree with Felix!

@Felix: To be honest, I didn’t paint a lot recently. My kids are on home schooling again, so it is a bit a challenge currently to find some time. Would an ACEO format watercolor be enough? I have done a few, also from own scenes. Is it enough that watercolors are used? Or does it need to show water in some form?

Ah of course, I hope you are doing well in lockdown

Whatever you want to do is fine, watercolors or water-themed :)

Thanks Felix. We are all well and I we stay well... I have submitted a tiny painting for the challenge.
