When shadows cross the snow

Tom0779 30 Dec 2020

This very simple painting is the last one I will share in 2020. I hope the pressure from work will reduce again in the next weeks and I find more time to paint more complex pictures.
However I wish everyone a good 2021!
Technically this is line and wash on A5 sized cheap watercolor paper from Canson, cold pressed. I am not a fan of this paper, it doesn't work well when you do wet in wet.

Big fan of the "unorthodox" composition. Especially with these snowy subjects I love you it takes you a second to understand what exactly you are looking at.
It's almost like you can watch your brain figure out the layout of the snow.

Serenity and simplicity has its beauty as only you can show on paper Tom!

Thank you for you last gift of 2020, looking forward to 2021! Best wished for the New year my friend!

Simplistic yet thoroughly captivating Tom, another stunner. Best wishes for 2021 and beyond.

Beautiful birch tree snow field! I like it a lot! I like that intensity of shadows varies to tell the story that those trees are at various distance! I like the intervals of snows and shadows on it.

Simple concept but very effective, i love your tree
