A totally different type of vehicle today, but a real challenge to paint. Most difficult here is the drawing part. This took me at least 2.5 hours. I found this covered wagon was a very nice idea, and something totally different.
I think a few other vehicle paintings, maybe 3 or 4, more will follow, then I think I will close this series and do something different.
Paper: W & N, cold pressed, cellulose. Format A5
Technique is line and wash
Idea is from a YouTube video.
I like it, nice rustic look painted and shading look great.
It really calls for bank robbery scene! Those sacks may be full of gold and gang was just caught by sheriff.
Great painting Tom!
This desert like scene and wagon are perfect together. I can only imagine the effort involved to draw the wagon so nicely.
Thank you all for your attention. For those who are interested in the drawing part I upload and additional picture of the finished drawing.
Nice! Watercolor?
Hello Deb. The drawing is done with a fine liner pen, painting is done with watercolors. This technique is called line and wash.
Thanks for your attention.

Oh wow I love it! You nailed this one. It reminds me of the game Oregon trail that I played when I was a kid. The poor family and oxen never did manage to make the journey all the way.
