Saw an Igor Sakharov tutorial for painting a Lion. He used a photograph he was given by one of his students. The tutorial has English subs so I was able to follow him and try his techniques with a picture I found. He is a great artist and well worth watching.

Wow. You've got some beautiful tones in there. What a challenge this is. Great job.

Thanks TLP!

wow.....this is awesome!!! Thanks for letting me know he has a tutorial....gonna watch it

Great Toadi, enjoy. He uses a solvent base and tones the canvas with brown and red but I used liquid clear instead and it worked fine.

I don't know that I'd even have the patience to do all that hair. You did an excellent job

In the tutorial he says the more strokes you add the more realistic the fur will be so I just kept going! :)

thanks....that is what I thought I would use too....glad to know I figured something right. I like yours better, hehehe

Hi Toadi, to be honest I am not sure it is but thanks! I'm looking for a nice Tiger picture to do next.
