I thought I might explore materials to paint on other than canvas and I'm wondering what you guys have tried, how you prep the material and how your paints brushes and tools perform on it. I started out with stretched canvas which I like, and I'm currently using canvas mdf core panels which I have learned to prefer now I've got used to them, thanks to tel. I've tried thick wallpaper which I also enjoyed thanks to Jos. I'm looking for something to paint on in oils, over a smooth surface that is rigid and doesn't warp that will hold its own in a frame, but I'm looking to experiment with anything. Has anybody tried anything different and how did it work out for you?
