Do you varnish your finished masterpieces or do you prefer au naturale?
It's not something i gave much thought to ...until recently. I was gifted a bottle of Winsor & Newton gloss varnish at christmas and now that the warm weather has finally descended i decided i would get out and make some space in the garage and give it a go.
Oh wow, what a revelation!...I set up my pasting table and laid flat 10 paintings, taking my two inch brush (no pun intended) i tentatively applied the varnish and immediately i could see the colours come to life, when i returned the following morning the difference was even more astounding, colours so vibrant. If you don't varnish i would strongly recommend trying it, it will give your paintings a whole new dimension
