Hi, I'm new to the forum and painting. Music has always been my art form I suppose. I remember watching Bob as a child and loving it. Recently I noticed that SkyTV (UK) had a lot of his episodes and have been watching them as something easy to watch and chill out and thought maybe I should give it a go. I bought myself some cheap brushes and paints and have recently finished my second painting I have ever done. They aren't perfect but I fairly impressed my friends and family with my attempts.

Coming from a mechanical engineering job where I have to 3D model components to very tight and specific sizes I have absolutely loved the freedom that comes with painting. I plan on slowly upgrading my equipment to some higher quality brushes and paints, keeping away from the BR brand. Adapting the techniques learned through watching Bob to my own landscapes and maybe taking on some real life images. Being from the north east of Scotland there are so many places I would love to be able to paint.

I have a couple of questions.

When you upload your own painting does it just start a discussion thread based on your painting so that you can get some advice?

Anyone in the UK understand the numbering system SkyTV has used for the episodes? I think some are missing and it doesn't seem to be split into the actual series number.

Thanks for reading!!

@fraem Welcome, Fraem. My family is from Ayrshire (Saltcoats and environs), so other end of the country.

Most folks don't know, but they owe the modern world to Scots engineers. šŸ‘

Welcome fraem, uploading a painting allows others to comment and offer advice,

Ian_Adkins Beautiful part of the country on the west coast! For such a small country we definitely made an impact on the modern world.

Hello, don't know about SkyTV but if you are missing any episodes you can watch them on dailymotion.com

Ian_Adkins I’m of Scottish descent as well and have always been amazed at how many Scotsmen have been great engineers. šŸ‘
