Thanks everyone! The doctor called me a while ago to let me know they were prepping him (catheter in, all that good stuff). It is 9:30am Tuesday morning where I am at the time of writing this, and the doctor said I should expect a call from him by 1pm. They are keeping him overnight, so I will be picking him up tomorrow. I really appreciate all of you, more than you know!

Hi All! I just got off the phone with the doctor. Caxton's surgery was a success. It took a while longer than anticipated, because the groove in his bone had to be cut pretty deep, but knee reconstruction was a success. Now for about four months of recovery and physical therapy. Well worth keeping my baby out of a wheelchair!! It's near on 5pm Tuesday here, and I will be picking him up 3pm tomorrow. Thank you everyone for all of your kind words and thoughts!

Again thank you everyone. He’s home and resting now. Have to keep him from running, jumping, or stairs for two whole months. This is going to be lots of fun. Will have to keep him totally separate from my other two dogs. Lots of juggling in and out of kennels now. I’m just thankful it was something that could be corrected.

I’m so glad he’s home! I’m sure it’s going to be challenging to keep him from moving too much. Did the vet have any recommendations other than isolation? Would maybe a thunder shirt would help? I don’t know if they work for dogs but one of my cats stays super calm when she has it on. It’s similar to swaddling a baby. Something about the snugness makes them feel secure. The only trick is getting it on...little tubbo does not appreciate being dressed lol

Thunder shirts worked great for my mom's dog on new years eve. He's even calmer with them than that one year where the vet gave him sedatives to get through the night.
