I heard another artist say they cleaned their brushes only with oil, no soap or water. Has anyone tried this? It seems to me that it would be difficult to get them dry and not thinning out the paint.

How did you get along with the water mixables?... Do you still use them?

I think our relationship is a little touch and go. The ones I have are so sticky, but, if I thin them even a little they're too runny. They are W&N. Maybe they're old. Maybe a different brand would work better for me. I really want them to work. I'm so sick of OMS.

I cleaned with baby oil. Check MazeArt channel on youtube. But in short - you would dip brush and smash it on clean space on the pallet, wipe in between dips, till the oil coming of the brush on your pallet is transparent. Wipe at the end with paper towel to adsorb most of it. That is it. The tiny residue does not dry up and does not effect anything keeping bristles in a great shape. But if you are afraid - just do soap and water rinse one time. it will still leave some oil behind but bristles will not dry out to be brittle and fluff out.
