I am wondering if anyone has any suggestions on how to cut a good oval in contact paper? I don't think the is a real geometry term for what my ovals turn out looking like...

I quit trying to use contact paper with all of its problems (wrinkles and not sticking to the canvas). I started doing what Matt Giese does for my ovals and it works great, draw your oval or other shapes on the canvas and then use little pieces of masking tape to go around the shape. It works great and thank you Matty G!

I make sheets of blue painter's tape and cut my ovals out of that. It sticks better than contact paper to the canvas for me.
