You need the dark in order to show the light.
Favorite Bob Ross quote
He had a lot of good ones. One of my favorites was "Up on this canvas you have unlimited power. Shoot, at home the only power I have is in taking out the garbage."
Well...Voy took my #1 favorite (I have a t-shirt), so my #2 favorite is...“Ever make mistakes in life? Let's make them birds. Yeah, they're birds now.”
I enjoy when he blurts out some morsel of uncharacteristic darkness. This one is my favorite:
Season 12 Episode 5
"We have us a big ol' stone lives right there. Mmm, big ol' stone. He stood here for a thousand years or so and the waves have beat on him. That's how I feel: like I've been standing around for a thousand years getting beat on. You know that feelin'? Ha--gonna take the least little touch of--ha, that's not true."
I always love whenever he does something bold (like a huge rock or tree in the middle of the painting) and goes "Now I know you're thinking: "Boy, Bob has REALLY done it this time." And you may be right..."
There were a couple times Bob went real dark for a moment. One of them was something along the lines of, "Maybe an old trapper lived here (in a delapidated cabin). But he drank too much, as we all sometimes do, and he fell in the pond and drowned. That's why it's abandoned now."
i get a kick out of this statement take some blue and black or black and blue whatever you prefer
Ian_Adkins Dang! That is dark.
Ian_Adkins "maybe, maybe there was an old trapper that lived out here, and one day he went to check his beaver traps and maybe he fell into the river here and drowned."
I love it when he says "We don't know, we don't really care".
I couldn't find the exact episode so I'll go by memory.
Context: Bob figures out he almost forgot to highlight one tree... "Oh! You don't want to forget that little tree. It's gonna be angry and you don't want to see an angry tree. I had one chasing me across the yard the other day."
This one and the one that @sanderson47136 chose are my 2 favorites.
NTZArt that one is a riot.
sanderson47136 What are you talking about? tell me, I'm interested
Just beat the devil out of it
tel And he was always giggling and smiling when he said it. Those poor paintbrushes 8-)
These are God's creatures and we need to care for them
“Talent is a pursued interest. Anything that you’re willing to practice, you can do.”
@Voy Kay#2424 As a lot of other Bob Ross quotes this is originally from Bill Alexander
OOPS!!!
Beat the devil out of it.
