@Colin Hudson My angel creation (painted yesterday during my paint date with Voy Kay) has been added to the event as well. I took another photo of it yesterday outside in the shade with camera in the sun, and it creates a nice kind of washed out blue effect. I tried to add it, but I will have to resize the image. Let me know if you would like the "more blue" version of it to use as well, or if you prefer just the one.
Christmas pictures needed for charity cards
@Voy Kay#640 Many thanks - I appreciate the thought and the effort. Queenscourt aill be chuffed!
doggymommee8301 Again, my deepest appreciation for the efforts of you and the rest of the members here. The effort will makke life so much better for people in the worst part of their lives.
@Colin Hudson#567 Hi Colin sounds like a great idea. I have one, a winter cabin scene that you’re very welcome to use if it is good enough. Good luck with the cards.
Curleybap Many thanks for your kind offer, It is very much appreciated and will help a lot of people to, not get better, but to live better whilst they can.
I would like to thank all the very kind and considerate artists from this community (family) who have donated some of their work to support the Queenscourt Hospice in Southport in the UK.
The hospice are delighted that people from all over the world have decided to help them care for terminally ill people in their darkest days. Without being political, it is almost completely self-funded and do not charge their patients for the care.
I have generated some of the Christmas cards and have made them both Merry Christmas and Season's Greetings for those people who do not observe Christmas but have their own celebrations such as Diwali and Hanukkah.
Please keep you contributions coming in as Queenscourt can always use them in future years. Your work does not have to be purely for Christmas as they can keep them on their site all year to allow people to enjoy them and contribute to their services.
Thanks again.
Colin
Hi N Kav, DOGGYMOMMEE8301, lightsnow, jeermiah11719, Von Kay, Bindu chomatti - writing the post above I suddenly realised that Queenscourt may like to use the pictures all year round as fundraisers, rather than just at Christmas.
Is it acceptable to you all for them to do that? I will abide by whatever you want me to do and explain it to Queenscourt. You will be able to verify yourselves by looking at their website so there can be no underhandedness.
Cheers - Colin
@Colin Hudson#655 Colin, the hospice is welcome to anything I have already posted, for any time of the year. I am going to also try to get a few more Christmas themed ones done for you in the coming weeks. For any future posted photos, please just clear it with me before using it.
Of course I will. I will not betray the trust you put ine me. Queenscourt will be very grateful for your support, as will I. Many thanks.
Thanks Colin! And I am glad we have generated excitement for the hospice. It is a wonderful thing they do, helping folks, and their loved ones left behind when end of life comes.

@Colin Hudson#658 I finally got the “blue” version of my Angel uploaded. Feel free to use whichever version (or both) you prefer for your Christmas cards. It’s the same painting. The only difference on the additional photo is the canvas was in the shade and the camera was in the sun. It’s a second photo on my original upload.
Hi Colin - just to let you know please feel free to use anything I've uploaded here. I have a number of originals that I have worked on if that would be more appropriate instead than a Bob Ross recreation. Whatever you need, it's all good with me!
lightsnow That is really great news and I am very grateful to you. I think I left it a bit late for this year's Christmas cards but they will be very good for next year. I can give them to Queenscourt, with the artist's name imprinted, and they can have revenue all year round. They will not make a fortune but everything will help them. Again, thank you.
Colin
I would like to sincerely thank everybody for their help and support during this appeal. Queenscourt Hospice are very grateful for your contributions.
I found out last night that my late wife's best friend also has terminal cancer and will be supported by Queenscourt. Life is never straightforward is it?
I am sorry if my post sounds like an Agony Aunt's page but Queenscourt are really struggling with the lack of funds caused by Covid-19. The same as everywhere else in the world, despite what some people may believe.
As the event comes to an end, can I ask everybody to consider entering a picture into the Holiday Spirit event. Your work does not have to be purely seasonal as Queenscourt should be able to get donations all year round based on your work. The money raised will help terminally ill people tolerate better the little time they have with help from their families, Queenscourt and from your efforts.
Thank you.
Thank you ThmsBoyd for your great contribution to the Queenscourt appeal. I really like the cold, stark effect of your work. So when are you doing the other 49? 8-)
@Colin Hudson#567 you can use any of my paintings (it is only one but I will be painting again soon) I hope your project brings alot of people joy, my grandmother is is hospice right now, and honestly I don't think she will be able to make it much longer, I wish you luck
@Daddy'slilmonster#819 Thanks for your contribution, it is really good. I hope you Grandmother is coping well and is peaceful and not in any pain. It does come to us all but the method varies every time. Look after yourself and the rest of your family.
I would be delighted to hear my painting had been used, knock yourself out buddy...sorry for your loss but time is a great healer, stay strong!
Hi Tel - everybody who donated some of their work will be included in the fund-raising efforts by Queenscourt Hospice. They appreciate everybody's efforts and generosity.
Wonderful initiative and I am glad this endeavour has been fruitful for all involved parties. I wanted to mention that, if at any point, you would like to create some kind of fundraising 'auction' and auction off actual physical paintings of mine, I would be willing to donate paintings folks might be interested in purchasing and donate 100% of the funds collected. I can figure out how to package the painting and ship it out from where I am - Quebec, Canada. Please don't hesitate to reach out if this is ever something anyone there might be interested in. I've been thinking about this a lot lately - donating these with the proceeds going to a charitable endeavour to try and help those in need, especially around this time of year.
