First attempt at using a black canvas...they were on sale, and I figured "why waste the gesso to turn a white one black -- except perhaps as a tribute to the Rolling Stones"! LoL
(In case my humor is drier than you prefer {add some thinner?}...it's a reference to the song "Paint it Black")

Hah! I love your sense of humor (no need for thinner). The sky reflections in the water are fantastic! Really good water lines as well.
