This is a second version of this one, the first of which I did about two and a half years ago. I took some liberties with color and composition and varied it a bit. This was also the first time I used Gamblin oil paints.

Background trees are just awesome but those mountains are unbeatable, you can't get closer to the real thing then what you painted there.

Haven't seen one of your paintings on here in quite a while. Fantastic scene. Love those background trees. I know it sounds weird to highlight background trees, but to me there's a fine line between too much and too little detail. Yours here are great. And what a sweeping mountain, too. Love it.
