Ebb Tide

I tried a new color here, dioxazine purple and man is it purple! The main wave just kept getting taller so I just went with it. One more to complete the series after this one. This is my 252nd upload. I will paint all 403 but it’s likely to take another day or two.

Very pretty!

Thanks Sandy!

such a beautiful sky!

Thanks Jeff!

If you mix that dioxazine purple into colors to create shadows it works fantastic.

Thanks for the tip Sunnylady I will try it! ( I was wondering where I would ever use it again).

Check this link and see the additional photo. I made that painting few months back but never posted. There is landscape painting with a lot of greens but mixed with that purple. I used that dioxazine there. I think it worked very nice. Maybe some idea for your future paintings as well.
But overall I think it will be beautiful for flower paintings and still lives with purples.

Your landscape at the link is marvelous! You are saying that you used the dioxazine purple mixed with greens to do the shadows correct? Also it is in the cloud shadows as well?

Very pretty indeed

Thanks Matt!

Thanks Tom!

@Cronenberg89 - i was looking at it and could not remember if I used D.P. in the sky. I think I did not/or maybe it was super tiny touch of it due to its power. Trees darks and shadows I certainly added. Most probably clouds were done with cad red/phtalo blue/ultramarine/ yellow ochre/ madder lake. These combinations give beautiful but calmer colors. Sorry I can't remember more.

Thank you so much Sunnylady!

Super pretty.
