Mountain Summit

MrJay72 13 Apr 2023

Ok, Pretty sure I will be doing this one again... Still not overly happy with my dabs not really looking like foliage, but I am seeing a little improvement. Also I need to work a bit more on my color mixing, and getting a better feel for the subtleties involved with that.

It is amazing how you do this digitally!

It's a Virtual Reality program called Vermillion!

Nice

Nicely done!
I'm super curious about how the program works; does it allow you to thin colors with medium at all? Does it respond to wet-on-wet technique? Also I have to say I'm super jealous of your presumable possession of an 'undo button' haha! I have often wished one existed for IRL oil painting.

This program is actually designed for wet on wet oil with thinner to mix with your white to make the "magic white" that is so fundamental. The problems I am running into is getting the brush "dabs" to speckle like Bob does, but I have that same problem with actual paintings also, so I am continuing to practice. And yes, I use the undo button alot, and another sneaky "cheat" I can do to make you envious is use layers to avoid "mud mixing". The program is called Vermillion, and you can watch some youtube videos on it. I use my son's Oculus Quest and paint in a virtual reality studio.

Loks good.
