Golden Rays of Sunshine

"Golden Rays of Sunshine"
October 9, 2023
Oil on canvas
50x60 cm

Finally did this one. It had been on my radar for quite some time.
I now have it in one of my Bob Ross books and I used it as reference for the colours and making them slightly more like autumn colours.

Black and white gesso underpainting, then glazed over it with transparent oils.
I used Zinc White instead of Titanium White for the light rays because Zinc White is semi-transparent, which made it easier to get soft rays.

Wow! Very realistic looking and the shadows cast by the foreground trees are wonderful.

One of the nicest versions I have seen of this painting.

Wow Effekt, super πŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‡©πŸ‡ͺ

That's my favourite version I have seen of this painting yet. Much more colorful and vibrant than the original, really nice work!

Really great work on this standout version! I particularly like the way you handled the leaves and shrubs on the ground. Well done!

Beautiful use of light.

Thank you everyone! <3

@Cronenberg:
Thank you. <3
I got the idea from Paul Ranson. He did a somewhat different composition of this one and added highlights and shadows on the path.
Come to think of it... the path could do with a bit more brownish colours I think, to make it look more like dirt with fallen leafs on it. Hmmm...

@Hammipaints:
Thank you. <3
It is not even as bright as it started out. The colours darkened a bit when they dried. But I still like how they ended up.

@Dracula:
Thank you. <3
I thought it might be fun to add some grass to it as well. Lots of grass like that in the woods near my place.

Wonderful version and thanks for the tip with the white paint.

Gorgeous!

Thank you Joha. <3
And you're welcome. I thought I'd mention it in case someone woulkd find it useful to know abotu Zinc White being semi-transparent.

Great choice on the zinc white! I didn't realize there were semi-transparent options for white - love to learn. Love the autumn colors.

Great rays of sunshine.

Nicely done!

Very good work!
