It's been awhile since I've found the time to do a painting. So today, I decided to try my hand at Mighty Mountain Lake. I think the mountain turned out alright. In certain parts, it looks like I was icing a cake though. I did not like how the foreground trees turned out. I decided to just put some grass in the foreground rather than putting the fall color bushes that Bob puts in his version of this painting. As always, I'm looking for ways to improve and would welcome any tips that anyone can provide.

I really like it. In regards to the frosting of the cake, it happens man. Let the paint set a few days and come back with your knife and the brown/blue mountain color you have used and ever so gentle counter highlight it to create the impression of rocks. In regard to the trees, they just need a little highlighting. Finally, I commend you on a stunning peak in the background. You nailed that one. Good work.

Very nice Chris. I would just add a bit more highlighting to your foreground trees and grass. Your mountains and sky are really nice.
