Bob's version in the book of this painting is so incredible beautiful, much better then the endresult of the video, so I wanted to try this once again with a picture of the book as reference (attached picture 4, normally I do not place pictures of the original, can be very frustrating as in this case, but this is an exception on the rule) and I did it three times. I found it hard to get a soft sky and clouds with the dark color not too dominant. I also 'studied' on Paul Ransons tutorial of this episode. Finally I like the result, especially the sky, from the smallest the best, on canvasboard of 13 x 18 cm, the other attempts were on wallpaper of 30 x 40 cm (picture 2) and canvasboard of 24 x 30 cm (picture 3), well, judge yourself, but none of these can be in the shadow of Bob's one, but that's no surprise, he's the master and how many times did he paint this epsiode before the end result in the book appeared?

I think your version came out beautifully. Your sky appears so soft and pretty and your rock layering and shading is so good. The texturing of your wave is fun to see, or should I say sea? ☺️ Great job!

I love it! You are so good with seascapes! Beautiful!

Thank you Kerri & Carolyn, so kind, both of you!

You're right, the book version is a beauty. Makes to want to be that good doesn't it. I think Bob was a much better artist than he let on. I'm sure we haven't see the best of Bob. I like your version of this one, really good.

Love this....so beautiful! Just love seascapes!

I love your waves!

Hey Jos, that's really sensationally good. With such a sky with dark clouds you quickly have the problem that they get too big but you solved it great.πŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‡©πŸ‡ͺπŸ‡³πŸ‡±

Thank you very much Helen (yeh great book version of Bob), Sandy, Stephanie and Dirk for commenting!
