Blue Winter

A real winterscene on first christmas day. Especially the gorgeous clouds in the book version catched my eye. While it is using only blue, black and white, it is not an easy scene in my opinion. The mixture of light and dark clouds is very tricky. Also the dark of the trees and the white snow are a difficult combination and also to get the right lay of the land in the mountains and besides the water was not easy. My snow became much too dark, so I scraped a part with the snow off and tried again. But it was fun, on canvas panel of 30 x 24 cm.
