My choice of today for this scene is because of the colorful sky. The book version was my main reference. I don't have the book with this scene, but I found online a picture of it (on the side 'picclick' I searched for 'joy of painting VIII' to get some pictures out of the book, a tip for those who doesn't want to buy the book, but see a glimpse of it). I did some little changes: I kept the evergreen smaller, added a little pond and skipped the icicles. On canvas panel of 30 x 24 cm.
The highlight of a little bush can be seen as not intended smoke coming from the chimney, a happy accident!
