Toward Days End

9"x12" - Size matters. Usually a smaller canvas equals less time to paint. But this one called for more detail. By time time I used to contact paper, the painting area was about 7x9 and I couldn't get my palette knife in to make rocks around the water's edge like I wanted to. So I used the smaller brushes and fan quite a bit. I think it turned out okay, but I think I made my life hard instead of easier with the board size this particular time.

I absolutely love the tree outside the oval! Fantastic job!

I love your colors, and tree too! Great cabin!

This is lovely and has a nostalgic feel about it. It looks like it belongs in a vintage picture book. I find knifework tricky on small canvas, the smallest I use now is 16x12". Did you try the short edge of your knife? It can be useful but I admit, I can't get it work with water lines. I found that loading a regular knife for waterlines when pushed for space sometimes works but you need to tilt your knife so you apply pressure to one corner of the blade only. You did a great job with the brush.

I meant to say HALF loading!

Great work, great color selection πŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‡©πŸ‡ͺ
