A retry on a small canvas (I'm a bit faint hearted LOL) and no oval this time. My first attempt I scraped off completely. The second time I used almost no oil for the underlayer, just crimson and sap green followed by white and yellow for the sky and it went better. I did it on wallpaper of 21 x 29,7 cm (A4 format). It was easier then expected and also a better result then expected. Tip: use highlights on the tree truncs on some places, with white and ind. yellow, that makes them better visible and gives a nice effect.
