Waterfall Wonder

joha59 09 Jul 2026

After two unsuccesfull attempts, I did not upload, I wanted to keep this third one simple with the focus on the main fall, so no little falls, just one easy big fall with only two strokes downwards, as Bob did. I also wanted to keep Bobs technique for the trees and hills with the downward tap, but not with the big 2 inch brush (I do not own), but with a cheap 3/4 inch spalter brush with natural bristles. The rocks were done with a filbert brush, as Bob did. With these conditions this painting was not too difficult. I did it on wallpaper of 40 x 30 cm and kept the photo a bit dark for the best result.

Fantastic waterfall!

I really like your version of this one, I've always disliked mine and I've never attempted to redo it. I went through a phase which lasted a very long time where redoing didn't mean improving so I just parked it there. I really like the mood you have created here.

Thank you very much Jin and Helen (always pleased with your extensive comment Helen and you're right: redoing does not guarantee improvement and that can cause a lot of frustration, but this scene was nice to do more times and making it more simple was for me the improvement.)

I like your misty water rising along ghe edges

I love the waterfall, it looks amazing!

Thank you very much Rebecca and Tom!
