Mountain Serenity

hadzis 13 Oct 2026

I have to say that I had trouble painting mountains this time. I am not sure why, but the canvas felt wet and spreading the colour with the knife felt messy and the paint felt too liquid. Maybe too much of the liquid white on the canvas during preparation?

Feedback about anything is more than welcome!

Too much liquid white, or clear, a very common problem we all learn to deal with. I like to use the fingerprint technique. It's been covered in the forum and there are YouTube videos about it. Nice job though, especially on a wet canvas. And welcome to TIB by the way.

Yes, welcome! KJay is right, we all have to learn how to apply the right amount of liquid white, mostly the same way you just did. The fingerprint method works great after some practice. I use it all the time now. You did well here, though! You persevered and created a lovely painting! Great job!

Thank you for the warm welcome and for the tip. I will use the fingerprint metod. Cheers!
