Silent Forest

matthewsmaynard 03 Feb 2020

The first one of this wasn't worth posting, so I changed out Phthalo Blue for Phthalo Green and it came out wonderfully. I took a hint from Dracula's version of this and noted that not everything in a forest stands tall; some trees are fallen. Also, used Burnt Umber for the path instead of dark sienna. All paints were Winsor & Newton Winton brand (except Daler-Rowney Georgian Sap Green and Gamblin 1980 Phthalo Green and Indian Yellow), on a black Michael's 16"x20" canvas.

Nice work! I especially love how your trail turned out and the big tree in the right foreground. Keep it up!

Like the highlights. Love the depth of the path
