The foothill Colours just don’t make sense

They quite do, it is just value is way too light. Probably the lower green shall be the value/color for the furthest trees. and then the second layer something in between evergreens on the far left and the furthest trees, meaning tone or too darker than the first layer.
It is quite a small lake which brings foothills closer to the viewer.
Evergreens shapes are great!
Foreground is beautiful!
