Mountain Summit

Officerharbin 07 Jun 2020

This is my 100th painting. I decided to redo the same one as I did for my first. I like my clouds, don’t hate my mountains, pretty happy with my evergreens and I kinda like my highlights. Although I still have room for improvement, I’m very proud of both.

Congratulations with 100th painting! Very nice one! Good job at sky, mountains, evergreens, trees and bushes!

Congrats on # 100! I hope to get there myself some day. Funny enough, I also re-painted this one exactly 1 year after I had first painted (my first painting was mountain summit). Here's to 100 more!

Thanks a lot for those kind words. I really, really enjoy painting and feel that I’m improving with every one. Just like Bob says, “if you ever do a painting you’re completely satisfied with, you might as well quit ‘cause you have nowhere else to go. And the next one that I do is gonna be a masterpiece. Probably won’t be this one, but the next one.” Those are some very true words.

Absolutely agree with what Bob said. I tend to apply that philosophy to many different avenues of my life. Dissatisfaction keeps you hungry, it keeps you moving forward, always striving for something better. I also find that, after a 'bad' or negative painting experience, I need to take 2 weeks off and regroup, but after that amount of time I'm always drawn right back to the canvas. It truly is a wonderful hobby.
