Mt. McKinley

Friso 18 Jun 2020

For my second painting I was still struggling with palette knife work, but I managed to make it work. The trees and bushes still need more practice, but working on the evergreens in the foreground I managed to already see some progression. The lake was also a lot of fun, but I wasnt' too happy with the sandy shores. I'm still using Van Gogh Oil Paint.

I don't know how to describe it, but there is a certain softness to your mountains that I simply adore!

I agree with Felix. Your mountain has a great sense of distance and angularity with confident brushstrokes and subtle color modulation. A great combination all around. Nice work!
