Rustic Winter Woods

KJ 21 Sep 2020

This is an interesting painting to do. A lot of work with the filbert brush which I don't use often. Trying to bounce and wiggle it around like Bob does is harder than it seems. Overall I am happy with the results. I always like doing paintings that start with an acrylic under painting. And with this painting, the liquid clear really shines! These are Ross oils on an 18 X 24 canvas. Not a lot of people have posted this painting. It's a good one to try!

I really like your trees, they are a bit spooky like the hands of a witch. The colours you used are really nice as well

Thank you Madame Mouton! Spooky was definitely what I was going for. Bob says in his video it's like a "Halloween" painting. The background colors were acrylic burnt sienna and burnt umber (I used more sienna than umber). Had a nice effect!

This is great painting and wonderfully made trees!

Thank you Sunny lady!! Lots of tree practice!
