Grey Winter

3x3”. I’m struggling with my brushes currently and am hoping to have enough spare funds soon to get myself a nice set of replacements; I use makeup brushes (TERRIBLE for oil paint) and old brushes I’ve collected through the years, most of which are styled for acrylic paint.

This particular painting utilized my 1/2” brush in lieu of a 2”, a 1/4” instead of 1”, #20 fan brush, and a weird sort of round brush I found in a box of art supplies from elementary school 🙃

Overall I like this, and like the monochrome’s because they take a lot less time!

One small tip I can give you. I discovered (through experience) that the 'VanGogh' brand has good brushes (sufficient for oil paintings) AND at a very affordable price (at least in Europe that is).

This is stunning little masterpiece. Great distance achieved in this small size canvas. Older brushes have some unique character. I have old fan brush that is not suitable any more for any tree at all and bristles are 20% shorter than in a new version but this little warrior does great clouds others cannot do.

I love this pearl grey and with pinkish undertone. I think this one is one of the best in your collection.

I used an old shaving cream brush last week for bushes.. worked pretty well :)

It's like this painting was designed to be a mini!
