Happy Accident

N Kav 02 Dec 2020

I wish I’d wiped the first picture off a little more vigorously! Thus episode is essentially painting a picture over a previous picture, although the first one is scraped off, there is still lots of paint on a tiny 2”x3” canvas! I hope it’s not too gloopy!

How the heck do you get so much detail and effects into such a small painting? Staggering.

Voy Kay Conqueror of Challenges

Real want to try this one but scared as hell for what will happen when I overpaint it. That's okay for sanding it first when you recylce one and then applying new gesso, but like this .... brrrr!

Bob scrapes off most of the initial wet painting, leaving behind an interestingly vertically striped background, removing 99% of the ‘original’ picture. I didn’t remove enough paint! On a bigger canvas it probably would have fine, but a reduced scale magnifies the volume of oil, if that makes any sense!

I love those smal paintings.
