Mountain Waterfall

HappyLittleCloud 21 Dec 2020

I loved the super tiny trees climbing up the mountain side, and adding trunks to the slightly closer evergreen forest. Such fun details. My waterfall ended up being super tiny, but I kind of like that if you are looking at other details you will find it even if overall it kind of gets lost. Still wish my closest bushes were better, not really sure how to make them better, looking for suggestions!!

I think your bushes look just fine with great colors and varied shapes. Nice job on the reflections and your large pine also. I’ve been using Princeton Select Deerfoot brushes that come is various sizes for bushes and details.

Thanks, ForestVueGallery! I'll check them out! I feel like that is my biggest weakness currently!

I read in your profile that you are new to painting. Well, you are doing an amazing job achieving this level of skill in such a short period of time, and this painting is no exception. I was watching one episode where Bob's son, Steve, was doing a painting and he mentioned that there were times when he was not very happy with a certain aspect of a painting but others told him that they love it. Usually people tend to be their own worst critic at whatever they are doing because they are trying to achieve "perfection", whatever that is. I am also new to painting (acrylics) and I used to get so frustrated when things did not turn out the way I thought they should, but I have learned to enjoy the process no matter what the end result is and I continue to learn mostly from the mistakes that I make.

Beautiful, your mountains are excellent.
