Winter in Pastel

HappyLittleCloud 28 Dec 2020

Decided to try one more snow scene before the Christmas weekend snow melted here. Wow, what a fun one! I worked meticulously on blending the sky. These were some challenging mountains since I've grown accustomed to more pointy, traingle-esce ones. I think this is my 13th painting, which I didn't realize until I was done... Missed an appropriate time to try my first 13 painting (I'm inspired by Voy's effort at the 13 challenge!)

Very nice job on cliffs.. love the lone bar tree, kinda haunting... in a good way... lol

Wow the cliffs and trees are so good!!!

It looks great! Sky blending is perfect! Softness of the mid-ground is excellent.

Voy Kay Conqueror of Challenges

This is just an awesome painting! I truly adore that sky blending and you managed to control the purple inspiration from Bob very well.
Distant trees, highlighted mountains, the banks, shadows .... sheer poetry in a painting!!

Lovely, you really captured the trees and cliffs, soft sky, could be sun rise or sun set. really lovely composition.

You’ve created very nice depth with the distant pines and the blended sky is perfection! You must have a magic blender.
