Grandpa's Barn

LoriEC 31 Dec 2020

Painted this yesterday for my folks. Had quite a time getting my perspective on the barn. Had to go back and redo part of it. Finally got it to a point I could live with. The rest of the painting was pretty easy and fun to do.

Voy Kay Conqueror of Challenges

This is a great painting Lori!
I'd forgotten this one existed and might add it to my short list. I can handle barns and cabins yet never done them on a larger scale. It would be a challenge for me.

Your folks will be VERY pleased with this creation!!!
Happy New Year Lori, stay safe and inspired painting!!

Thank you, Voy. Happy New Year to you as well. Look forward to seeing more of your creations!

The detail is wonderful. Much better than I could do when I try this one. I do remember Bob saying something about perspective in some season in the late 20's. He said if you are below the structure in elevation the point of the roof will appear higher than the point farther away from you. Not sure which painting it was when he said that.

Yes I brought the front point up and leveled the left eve above the shed. Made a huge difference. Since you are looking more straight on at the barn it just didn’t look right uneven. Sure appreciate everyone’s input. It truly blesses me.
