Well here it is....my first painting. My middle trees look weird. I made the sky pink to match my Mom's walls. Give me all the help you can please. The right tree I used a fan brush for highlights and the left tree I used a 2 inch. Makes them look different plus I was trying to see which one I liked more. Honestly I like them both..LOL So let me know what you think of this....thanks

Very nice work for your first painting! Really good blending in the sky and the water looks realistic. The darkness behind the trees sets them out and both brushes worked for you. Looking forward to your future creations!

You nailed the frozen water. I did this a week ago, and really struggled, so great job.
The fan brush snow gives a more heavy snow just fell effect I think, the other feel more like a dusting thats been sitting a while (In my opinion).
I always look at the painting I want to do, and then at the community paintings that go with it, just to see how others took it on, and I find that helps me.

You tried very well with those trees, be careful not to overkill them with highlights. Tom and Forestvuegallery, to name a few, are great (tree) examples for this recreation. Have a look and enjoy!
