The sky was a mess soni painted over it and tried a simpler one and it still is the worst part of this painting I think. I find starting with the canvas covered in a paint instead of magic white to be a strange experience. Can't decide if I like it or not but it certainly proves a different result!

Thanks - I've really been trying to figure them out and they're starting to get better! Glad someone noticed!
Trees indeed catch attention here! First they form contrast to the blue but most important your highlights and shadows (aka value ) are a great here!
I do think the colors are overdone on the highlights but I wanted it to be really bright (unnaturally) so I could try to make the foliage clear. Catch attention is such a kind way of saying silly bright!
