Southwest Serenity

Mgiese84 04 May 2021

I did this piece because I plan on giving this to a friend for her birthday. She is originally from Arizona (now lives here in Iowa). Hopefully it'll remind her of home.

Love these mountains.

Voy Kay Conqueror of Challenges

Daring to put that blue in there but it worked. VERY nice painting, I especially like the bushes.

Mgiese84 Cleanest Technique In The Game

Voy I used the blue because I was running low on crimson. Otherwise I would have made it a tad more purple. I made the bushes on the bluer side to help pull it together.

Nice, had a sort of prehistoric feel to it somehow. Toss a pterosaur in the sky, maybe smoke curling out of that distant mountain like it was a volcano. Nice colors!

Very nice definition in the mountains! For purples you can add bright red or cadmium red to your blue as well to create purple colors. If you get Quinacridone they will give you more vibrant pinks and purples.

This blue works here and creates a feel of very deep shadow. Edges of all mountains are fatastic! Yucca trees ( i hope I remember the names right) look super!

Sunny's right, those mountain edges are fantastic; I like how they appear to be curling around to the right. Thanks for the mention of Quinacridone; I hadn't seen the term before.
