Gray Mountain

HappyLittleAnna 13 May 2021

Well, my liquid white substitute turned out a bit too thick today so I'm not happy with the reflections

I think your mountains and hills and your sky is beautiful. You are really good at making trees and for a sub liquid white your reflections turned out really good. It’s really easy for us to criticize our own work. And our next picture will “be the one” as Bob Ross said. But I think it’s a beautiful painting.

Thank you for your kind words!

I second Happyisland. The reflections are great, and we are tough on ourselves.

I think part of the problem is that we see our work from blank canvas through finished painting. Others just see the finished work as a whole.

I've done paintings that I wasn't too happy with...then a week later, I look at a picture of it on my phone and ask myself, "What was I thinking? That's pretty good."

Maybe that saying 'time heals all wounds' applies to painting as well. 😁

Forgot to tell you...I like this whole painting, not just the reflections.

Thank you! I guess you must be right - in a week I will probably forget what bothered me during painting it and I will not notice those things anymore!

Mountains, evergreens ,reflections ... nothing wrong there Anna, just a nice pleasure and quality painting, no worries!

Peaceful painting with nice colours and trees and mountains, reflections are maybe a bit darker then you intended to do, but I like the whole picture!

Very nice. Particularly the evergreens, Im having an impossible time trying to get evergreens to look decent. Yours are fantastic
