Surprising Falls

ShadowscarsDragon 29 May 2021

This one was an interesting challenge. Done on a large 18x24 canvas, Bob’s standard size, and first time doing a Steve Ross. I can’t put my finger on it, there is something that annoys me with it, but it’s definitely not a bad painting.

I'll tell you what annoys me about the painting...that it's so dang good. 😁 Seriously, there's nothing wrong with it. Very nicely done, particularly the mountains...they're distant with detail (but not too much detail).

Was it easier to paint on the 18x24-inch canvas?

Alex_Ander; It's both easier and more work. You have more space to achieve the effects, but you have more space so you need to compensate by adding lots of details. I find those usually need touch ups at the end and take more time - 12x16 takes me 90-120 minutes, this one took me a good 4 hours.
Also, thanks a lot for the compliment, it does make me feel better about it :)
